About me

Greetings, my name is Shixian. I’m a 2nd year PhD student at the University of Tokyo’s Interactive Intelligent Systems Laboratory (IIS-Lab) under the supervision of Prof. Koji Yatani. I received my M.Eng in Electrical Engineering and Information Systems from the University of Tokyo in 2022, and B.S. in Computer Engineering and Computer Science from Rose-Hulman Insitute of Technology in 2020.

My research in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) focuses on exploring technology that supports physical and mental health. I’m particularly interested in how AIs such as Large Language Models (LLMs) can be used to support mental well-being.

I’m currently working on a research that uses multiple chatbot to create group therapy environment for women’s health management. You can check the details here.
