Supporting PMS Management with Multi-Chatbot Interaction

Digital mental health interventions such as mental health chatbots traditionally focus on individual therapy, while group therapy can offer unique benefits such as community support. Inspired by the benefits of group therapy, we designed a multi-chatbot system consisting of both a facilitator bot and peer bots to simulate a group therapy environment using Large Language Models (LLMs) for women’s health management.

Exploring Motivational Dynamics and Design Opportunities in Group Therapy

This study examined a group CBT program called the Serigaya Methamphetamine Relapse Prevention Program (SMARPP) as a case study to understand stakeholder coordination and communication, along with factors promoting and hindering continuous engagement in group therapy. Our investigation uncovers the presence of discernible conflicts between clients’ intrapersonal motivation as well as interpersonal motivation in the context of group therapy through the lens of self-determination theory.

Vision-based Swallowing Capability Quantification with Smartphones

The diagnosis of dysphagia by clinicians poses challenges, as it requires patients to make regular clinic visits and the diagnosis requires training and empirical skills of the doctors. To address these issues and enable patients to assess potential symptoms of dysphagia easily at home, we propose a method to evaluate oral and swallowing function from videos captured by smartphones.
